A Pair of Arrests Following London Heathrow Irritant Spray Incident
An additional two individuals are now in custody related to a robbery at London's Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals were injured by what is thought to be an irritant spray, as stated by police.
A man, 24, was arrested in the Lambeth area on suspicion of theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. They both remain in custody, authorities confirmed.
These detentions follow a probe into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the attack, two women had stolen from them their suitcases after getting out of a car park lift.
A toddler aged three was among the those hurt during the incident. Five people went to hospital for treatment and were later released.
Officers arrested a 31-year-old man for suspected theft and assault near the scene. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.
Police were called at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of a number of people injured by a noxious substance believed to be pepper spray.
The assault - which authorities stated was a standalone incident and not being treated as an act of terror - resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park briefly.
